Making a difference
SC Health Advocates is a consortium dedicated to providing multiple methods of educating the youth, educators, and community of South Carolina regarding the importance of disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and donation awareness to increase life-saving donations.
Provide an understanding of health disparities, disabilities, the importance of disease prevention, and how our body’s work under optimal conditions.
Lifestyle
Offer guidance in reducing health risks by promoting lifestyle decision making skills and practicing health-enhancing behaviors.
Donation
Understanding the donation process and the benefit of lifesaving blood, bone marrow, organ, eye and tissue donation that improves the quality of health for individuals in need of a transplant.

2017 Scope & Sequence Plans covering health curriculum for grades 6-8 are now available for download.
The Donate Life South Carolina “Lewis E. Cooley Memorial” poster contest has ended. We want to thank all students who participated in the art contest and shared their unique message on the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation for transplantation. Please check back in September for more information on the next “Lewis E. Cooley Memorial” poster contest in 2022.
South Carolina Classroom Education
The consortium offers teacher training in the use of curricula materials and web-resources that provide comprehensive evidence-based instruction for middle and high school grade levels that align with the new 2017 SC Academic Standards for Health and Safety Awareness. SCHA projects also include promoting community awareness through exhibitor and conference participation.
